Yet you are reading about it here. But this secret is different than any other secret you may have heard about in your entire lifetime. Why? Why is this the biggest secret, even bigger than the book called, The secret?

This secret is the most illusive and the biggest secret because only you know the answer. And still you haven't found the answer yet, yet I, a complete stranger will reveal the answer to your secret that even you do not know, yet.

What makes you happy? Where does your complete happiness live? Is it expensive? Is it real or fantasy? Is it reachable? Are you able, at any time in your life, even during the hardship times, to make yourself happy? Can you experience real joy? Or are you the person who sits there sullen, complaining about everything and anything in life? What is the true spirit of your personality? What is deep inside your heart, mind and soul? Where is your passion for life? If you had nothing left, what would you want to hold on to? What is the one thing, the one person, the one value that you know in your heart that you will not compromise? What are the answers to all these questions? Where is your happiness and how do you obtain true happiness?

Will you be happy if you march off to a mountain and climb it and get away from every human being on earth? Will you be happy if you go to the middle of the busiest Walt Disney parade and lead the parade through the city streets as Grand Marshal of the parade? Will you be most happy if you join a convent of nuns? Will you be happy if you cook a meal for ten thousand people and serve a banquet and fill the streets of the town with marshmallows and pink balloons? What in the world will make you truly happy? So many of us have such different answers to those questions. It is amazing the variety that we can come up with if we just think about the answers the true answers to the question of what really makes us happy. Some are happy going horse-back riding, while others are happy doing sky-diving or bungee-jumping and still others are happy just listening to the prayers in the Mass that the Pope is saying. What is the true meaning of happiness and what makes us happy and when we are happy will we even know that we have reached our happiness goal?

Personally, I am happy when I am with family and I am happy when I am helping people and helping children. I am happy when I am writing, especially when I am writing something that I know will help others be more creative and imaginative. But these things that make me happy are not the things that make others happy because happiness, true, real sincere happiness is an individual experience and an individual choice. Yes we can choose what makes us happy. Perhaps that's why happiness is such a interesting thing in all of our lives. Some choose good things to make themselves happy and others choose bad things to achieve a temporary happiness that makes them sadder than they have been before they found their fake happiness. So what is real happiness?

Answer

Real happiness is whatever you make it. The question or choice of true, sincere happiness is deep within your mind, eyes, heart, spirit and soul and when these all reach out to the very same thing, then we know what our true sincere happiness is. See all of them must be in connection in order for the real happiness to be the most sincere one that we will know in our lives. When some are separate or have different happinesses, that is when the fake happiness is gained by us, that temporary happiness. For example, a person stands there, sad and sullen, totally unhappy, perhaps fearful and anxious. That person falsely feels that illegal drugs will make him happy. The person's eyes and feelings and mind are not connected, not believing the same truth. The person's eyes and feelings want the illegal drugs. Yet, the person's mind knows and sees and believes that the drug is illegal and also knows that there possibly might be grave negative consequences if they take those drugs. If they didn't believe it was negative then they would not hide the drug use but do it out in the open, but most drug users and abusers (before they are completely hooked) do their drugs in secrecy; they hide the drugs and they hide themselves from their friends and family while they are doing the illegal act. So, they are not fully connected to themselves, and when they are not truly connected to themselves they can make only negative decisions which always give them false, temporary happiness. So, only negative happiness, fake happiness or temporary happiness comes when a person's mind, spirit, eyes, soul and brain are separate, making separate decisions.

YOU, only you, know what makes you happy. And when you think you have found your true sincere happiness, you need to ask yourself is your entire mind, body, eyes, spirit and soul connected and agreeing with your happiness choice? If they are all connected then you truly have found your real happiness in your life.

Happiness is what you want to make it and happiness, true sincere happiness will bring you closer towards your goals. When you are truly connected to every bit of yourself, you will make decisions that are connected to the real you and you will begin to experience real happiness. That is your answer. Only you know what makes you happy. So where do you being? How do you start this quest? Do you prance out on your horse, like Don Quixote, fighting imaginary enemies that are windmills? Do you waste any time like that at all? No one knows. Only you know. However, I will offer some ideas, some suggestions, some thoughts that might bring you closer to your goal of finding real, true, and sincere happiness.

Here are some things, events, hobbies and causes you can get, join and follow up on to see if any of these bring you closer to your real happiness. Only a few if not, nobody wants to be sad all their lives. Happiness is all about celebrating life and everything it brings. For some, happiness might take form of a physical material while others find it deep within them. Which one is your happiness? Here are some ways for you to find them.

When things go bad as it always does, look at the situation is another person's eyes. You might think that what you have right now is the worse thing you can possibly encounter but what you do not know is that this is just the tip of the iceberg for some people. Others live and breathe what you have considered today as a bad thing which you should appreciate.

This ultimately leads to being grateful with everything that comes your way. The best thing about life is that it happens for a reason and it is supposed to strengthen you. You may consider a bad situation as something you need to forget but never in a million years should you not be grateful that it has come to you and has strengthened you.

Come to think of it, when we were kids we do not have the problems that we have today. We barely think of bills or even money for gas; what we can only think of was how are we going to play with our neighbors and which games are we going to play. We can bring back those happy memories by getting into the game that you really love during your childhood days.

The best thing money cannot buy is love. Surround yourself with loved ones by spending quality time with them every now and then. Schedule a weekly dinner with them or go out with friends. Bask under their love.

What others tend to forget when they go about and live their routinary lives is to live each moment as if it is their last. Letting every moment count makes your life a lot easier and lets you be free of everything that is bothering you for the entire day.

Find the meaning of your life. It is the ultimate quest of oneself and by finding out what your purpose is for living then you might as well found your true happiness whether it be serving for the church or doing charity work.

Pursue a goal that you have been wanting to for a long time. For example, if you have been itching to try out that new restaurant for several weeks now, go ahead and try it out and find your momentary happiness. Seek out the pleasures in life and dwell upon it.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Allie_Watkins

Happiness Inside Each Moment

Happiness Inside Each Moment

Every breath you take, every thought you think and the very beat of your heart echoes loudly within the confines of your presence. Are you hearing it? There's a vibration in your idleness that penetrates your core. Are you feeling it? The power of your existence resides inside each of these precious moments. Are you paying attention?

We are all simply the expansion of every moment collected within our being. When you embrace times of pleasure your expansion builds to that of joy and excitement for life. In contrast, the opposite is also true. You are never outside of this principle. So, whether you are directing this development or not, it continues, ever expanding.

Realizing how powerful this truth is may help you determine how you choose to spend your moments. As you consider this moment, recognize how you feel, really experience the vastness and depth of every sensation.

Being intensely present inside every moment is the absolute most significant place to reside. So, knowing your moments design your future, how do you cope in the midst of a broken heart, the pain of an accident or the agony of loss? You can never deny the contrast of life, the ups and the downs, the happy and sad. However, it is in these diverse moments that opportunity is present.

Oddly enough, this is where power is increased. It is as powerful as the ricochet of a tennis ball off of the court after a serve. Just as the ball increases velocity, so does your vibrational pull in the midst of despair. Taking advantage of this opportunity will always provide miraculous results. However, few find the courage to reach for something better, and instead give way to their pain.

A client of mine was immensely content. She had a great job, financially sound and pleased with her environment. Life was a breeze and she had all that she desired, or so she thought. Midway through the Country's latest economic crisis she was informed of losing nearly $500,000. This was every bit of her inheritance, her life savings and retirement, all was gone. I'm sure you'll agree that is devastating.

First she questioned her reality, if she was ever truly happy. Then she saw the opportunity! That is the moment she really began living. She always thought she knew what she wanted, little did she know, she hadn't even begun to live. It was the first time in her life she considered her deepest desires outside of her regular routine. She had a clean slate on which to move forward and she took advantage of it.

Two years later, she is living with great passion and moving through every day with purpose. Her finances are coming together in ways she didn't originally think possible and she's truly happy. The day she asked herself, "Now what?" her tragic loss became her greatest blessing. As she explains, "Losing that money was the greatest thing that ever happened to me." This is true only because she utilized each moment as a vision for her future.

Every time you experience a painful moment you have a choice. You can remain in the pain, become the pain of your circumstance, and that too will expand. Or, you can catapult your life to a greater existence, utilizing your moments to envision your future instead of giving them away to your past, and prolonging your hurt. Knowing how you're residing inside your moments is your biggest step in awareness. When you recognize your desires to be more significant than your past pain, you'll be positioned to embrace your moments with passion for a better future.

They say, "Don't live in the past." However, there is nothing wrong with living in the past, as long as it's supporting your present. If living in the past offers positive, healthy, productive and supportive moments for you, then by all means continue choosing that. The past is what vintage cars, antiques and classic rock are all about. The question is; is it bringing a positive experience to your present moments?

At the end of the day, in your silence, deep in the recesses of your mind is the depth of your reality, built by all your moments combined. When you're paying attention, listening to your individual truth and choosing positive thoughts and actions you will then be building the future of your greatest desires. It all starts inside this little moment.

There is no one on this planet more significant than you! Your moments are just as powerful and significant as anyone's. The focus given to your moments becomes the building blocks for your future. Seize the day! Recognize your power! Inside every moment give attention to your desires. There is no greater task in life than designing your future inside the moment.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tina_Finn

The Importance Of Happiness In Life

The Importance Of Happiness In Life

The human essential that is needed is a person to emotionally vent to. For men, this is typically the spouse. For those that are single, this may be a trusted friend whom one has known for years. Many of the socially anxious do not have any friends, let alone one who listens to their problems.

Every human needs a release valve, a way of blowing off the steam. Otherwise, those nasty feelings are kept inside and the person ends up taking out the nasty feelings on him or herself or other people. The socially anxious become increasingly anxious, and rather than placing the blame of the problem in an appropriate place, they place the blame on themselves.

Next, understanding that anger is just one of many states that arise in our mental continuum is important. Like sadness or guilt or jealousy, anger is just another state that arises in our mindstream and if dealt with appropriately, will dissipate. It is no worse or better than any other. It is when we hold on to our anger and allow it to consume us that we energize it!

Happiness is a state of mind that has less to do with changing external circumstances and more to do with your inner self.In a global happiness survey, the USA came very down 23rd in the list of countries! So acquisition of wealth and possessions doesn't pave the way to happiness,it seems.the most successful people are not necessarily the ones whose hearts sing the is important to prevent rather than cure.

That is why when the first signs of restlessness ensue it is betting to bring in a life coaching expert. Therapists focus on past events, to analyze the present emotional, and mental condition of the people.

Life coaching uses the power of the mind to promote a positive effect on a person’s life. The mind is a powerful thing. It knows, it feels and it aggravates a person into action.

Pursuing happiness is a mental effort. Actualization is achieved thru realization. A person is better able to see the road when he knows where he is going. It is not easy, although nothing ever is but with the aid of a life coach and the program a person is better able to focus because there is guidance and mentoring.

Awareness of negative programming/messages/false beliefs that did not support Joy. When clients embraced the intention of being more in a state of Joy a lot of the old messages that blocked Joy would come to the surface.

Once these messages were at the surface they could be healed and released. The feelings also held in the body that were associated with these beliefs/experiences also needed to be released so the body was free to fully embody the Joy.

Having a breathwork session or other emotional process work to move this energy through was essential. Trying to move into Joy without releasing held in anger, fear, grief is like trying to get a hot air balloon loaded with rocks off of the ground---you just don’t get very far. What one needs to be mindful of in doing emotional process work is not to get stuck in processing old feelings over and over again.

This can be an unconscious way to feel safe---exploring the feelings of the past rather than taking the loving actions to live fully in the present. Pay attention. I hear from a lot of people lately who do a lot of personal growth work.

By: petersonbran

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

How To Find Happiness In Our Lives

How To Find Happiness In Our Lives

What is happiness? If you were to ask your friends this question today I am absolutely sure you will end up with many answers. And, if I were the one to answer it, then I will answer it from my experience. My practical experience I have gained all along is that I derive true happiness the moment I better someone’s life. Do you agree with this?

Everyone is craving for happiness but it saddens that most people have a hard time of finding it. There are many ways to make someone’s life better. This someone could be your friends or people you hardly know of. All what matters is how you have changed their lives. People will gravitate to you if you change their lives. By doing this you make connections (you acquire friendships.) The more lives you better the happier you’re.

The happy faces you see around you are always grateful. These people are grateful for the people and good things in their lives. Being grateful for things and people in your life derives you happiness. One way to help you get closer to happiness is to work towards closer relationships with your friends and family. Steer clear of negative people who only bring you down.

Remember to be thankful for the things you have: your relationships, your career and your friends. Being thankful for what you have can go a long way towards helping you find happiness. Happy people tend to have a sense of purpose and know exactly how they want their life to be . By the way, what's your purpose? If you know your purpose, are you pursuing it? If yes, then that is happiness.

Sign up for a joke of the day service and have jokes sent to you via email. Laughter really is the best medicine; it causes the release of endorphins which give you a sense of well being. Optimism isn't something that all of us naturally have, but as you've probably noticed, people who are happy tend to be optimistic.

Try to look for the silver lining in every cloud and make an effort to see the brighter side of everything which can make the impossible to be the possible rather than dwelling on the negative look for solutions which make the possible to be impossible.

By: Joshua Nyamache

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

<georss:box>13.928514151397994 -163.4765625 75.752067151398 -43.9453125</georss:box>

Walking - Increase Your Positive Energy and Happiness

Walking - Increase Your Positive Energy and Happiness
By Shannen Lee

If you are looking for a fast way to increase your level of happiness immediately, try taking a short 10-minute walk. This is not too good to be true, but a phenomenon that is backed up by scientific research. In this article, we will first go through the research evidence backing this, why people still do not exercise more despite the known benefits. At the end, we will also discuss ways to overcome it so that you can be on your way to move more and gain greater happiness.

Professor Robert Thayer is a psychology professor at California State University, Long Beach. He wrote the book Calm Energy: How People Regulate Mood with Food and Exercise, a work that has received tremendous reviews and his work has been cited in other essays and professional publications.

As Prof Thayer explains it, "calm energy" is a state of high energy and low tension, and it lines up closely with happiness. In research that he conducted with his team, they had people walk on certain days for three weeks and compared the energy levels of these people on the days that walked against the days that they did not. On the days that they walked, the test subjects experienced higher energy levels.

According to Prof Thayer, walking arouses the body's activiy level. When you are not moving, your body is in a sedentary mode and various systems of the body are not active. Once you begin walking, these systems are activated. For example, you will experience greater metabolism and cardiovascular activity. Adrenaline begins flowing and your body stimulates more neurotransmitters and neuromodulaters like dopamine and norepinephrine. All these work together to lift your energy level in a positive way, giving you more happiness.

It does not need to be a long walk either. Depressed woman in a research study were more energetic on days that they walked just 15 minutes versus days that they did not. You do not need to spend an hour working out hard at the gym. If you cannot do 15 minutes, start with your first 3 minutes. Prof Thayer wrote that just getting up and doing your first 50 steps, you could start feeling different.

Based on such established research and evidence, though, a lot of people still fail to take action for various reasons. On of the reasons often cited is the "lack of time." People often feel stressed out and tired after a hectic day at work, and with the weekends busy with the children's activities and catching up with errands, it because very difficult to find the energy to begin going out for a walk. This could be a downward negative spiral as the more tired and low energy you become, the less you want to get up and take a walk, and the less happy you end up, and then the more tired you will feel and so on.

One really need to take a step back and look at the big picture. I once heard from a successful entrepreneur that there is nothing known as the "lack of time," it's really a lack of priorities. For example, even if a person is busy and tired, he/she still gets up go to work everyday or take time to do grocery shopping each week. Think about what it means if you have more energy to face your everyday activities and happiness, how much more will the quality of your life increase? Is that worth going on a 10-minute walk around the block a few times a week?

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Shannen_Lee

<georss:box>31.303442099999998 -86.4900027 40.215704099999996 -71.5485967</georss:box>

The Meaning Of Life - Happiness?

The Meaning Of Life - Happiness?

Some say that the purpose of life is to seek happiness.

Is happiness the purpose, or is happiness the result of another purpose? Is happiness the meaning of life, or is happiness the result of discovering what has heart and meaning for you?

There is not one right answer to this question. The answer lies within each of us regarding what gives meaning to our life.

What give meaning to your life?

Perhaps, in seeking happiness, we discover what has heart and meaning for us. Is this how it is for you? Or is it the other way around for you? Is happiness for you the result of loving yourself and others? Do you find that when you are open and loving, that you feel filled with happiness?

Maybe love and happiness are inseparable. Maybe when we are happy, we are naturally loving, and maybe when we are loving, we experience happiness. If this is the case, then is the purpose of life is to seek happiness, or is the purpose of life to evolve in our ability to be loving and compassionate with ourselves and others?

In my view, it is not important to separate out love and happiness. What is important is to discover what gives your life meaning. In my experience, meaning always has to do with love - with loving yourself and discovering how you want to share your love with others. When you discover this, you will likely be happy.

Perhaps the meaning of life is to discover what has heart and meaning for you and, therefore, brings you happiness. The questions to ask yourself are:

• What has heart and meaning for me?
• What brings me joy?

Folowing Your Bliss

Gillian decided early in her life that what had heart and meaning for her was getting married and having children. She had decided that if she did not have children by the time she was 43, that life was not worth living. She started working with me when she was 42, unmarried, childless, and contemplating taking her life.

In the course of her deep inner work, Gillian discovered another source of meaning in her life. She discovered that learning to be loving to herself - to the spark of God that she truly is - was extremely satisfying to her. As she practiced getting to know and love her true Self, she discovered another source of meaning - helping others. She realized that working in finance was not fulfilling to her and went back to school to become a chiropractor.

Gillian currently loves helping people attain excellent health. In addition, she adopted a 10-year old girl whose parents had been killed in an accident. She has found great joy and meaning in loving her adopted daughter.

Gabriel consulted with me because he was depressed. He had become an attorney because that is what his father was, but found that he disliked it. It held no heart and meaning for him. In his soul, Gabriel knew that he was a writer. He decided to "follow his bliss", as Joseph Campbell encouraged us to do. While Gabriel is currently not making nearly the money he made as an attorney, he is finding his happiness. By choosing to love himself and share his love through his creativity, he is finding his joy.

Love, happiness, joy - perhaps they are all One. If you choose to pursue what has heart and meaning to you, you will likely find your joy.

By: Margaret Paul, Ph. Not that it was all bad, but most people don’t understand what the root of true happiness is.

My observations come from my life long experience with studying Metaphysics, Meditation, and various religions.

My view is that we live in a world of illusions and we delude ourselves into thinking that by satisfying our Ego we will be happy.

However, the Ego is an illusion too. It’s not our true self—our eternal spirit is our true self.
The eternal self or spirit exists outside of time and space.

We suffer many illusions which keeps us believing that we can become happy through worldly goods, power, or sex.

Imagine that your spirit is light a light in a fish bowl of water. Your thoughts and emotions are like silt swirling in that water. When you learn stillness and peace—usually through some form of meditation, then the silt falls to the bottom and your true spirit shines out.

When we learn stillness, and calm our thoughts and emotions, we also start to pierce the illusion of temporary “happiness”. Instead we start to become happy by living in the spirit—which is where true happiness resides.

The book “Removing Illusions to find True Happiness” goes into the illusions we suffer and how to remove them in much more detail.

Here’s hoping you all learn to live in the spirit and find true happiness.

By: Martin K. A person has never reached true success if he has never felt real happiness. As a matter of fact the declaration of independence states, that happiness and the pursuit there off is man’s in alienable right. Meaning it is a god given right.

Why Do We Have to Be Happy?

People say that life is complicated enough without having to be moody or sad every single day of your life. According to science elation triggers hormones that are essential for proper metabolic function and well being. The happy feeling also brings about the positive side of a person. Which ever premise you choose, it is absolutely important for a person to feel happiness in his lifetime.

Reality Check

In reality however, poverty, stress, violence, competition, and oppression is all around us. In Africa and other third world countries we see people dying of hunger, we see those in power abuse and beat down people to gain a foot ahead of their own country men. We see everything around us, but we fail to look within ourselves. Chances are your one of the thousands if not millions of people taking antidepressants.

Actually statistics say that 20% of Americans take antidepressant, and overdose of MAOI’s are not uncommon. The American Psychological Association asserts that children 14 and above will start having depressive episodes at least ones a year until the age of 30. Sadness leaves a profound effect on the human body and spirit. Humans tend to lean towards negativity because it tends to carry more weight that happiness. The unfortunate thing is that scientifically deep rooted sadness is the underlying cause for diseases such as, chronic heart failure, cerebrovascular accidents, apnea, and migraine.

Coaching vs. Therapy

It is important to prevent rather than cure. That is why when the first signs of restlessness ensue it is betting to bring in a life coaching expert. Therapists focus on past events, to analyze the present emotional, and mental condition of the people. They dig deep into the darkest corners of a person’s mind to find the root of unhappiness. Life coaches however focus on the present. Usually when a person feels the first nagging doubt of sadness the cause is immediately within reaching distance.

Mind Power

Life coaching uses the power of the mind to promote a positive effect on a person’s life. The mind is a powerful thing. It knows, it feels and it aggravates a person into action.

Pursuing happiness is a mental effort.

Actualization is achieved thru realization. A person is better able to see the road when he knows where he is going. It is not easy, although nothing ever is but with the aid of a life coach and the program a person is better able to focus because there is guidance and mentoring.

As much as a life coach wants to help you achieve your full potential and are happy there are limitations as to the scope of duties a life coach can perform. A life coach is not psychologically educated. Therefore they are not equipped with the expertise to treat a mentally and emotionally distraught person who is on the verge of utter hopelessness. If this is the case then it is better to seek medical help.

By: TheAllKnowing

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

<georss:box>27.051509274169625 -137.28515625 59.086266274169624 -77.51953125</georss:box>

The Capacity For Happiness And Respectability

The Capacity For Happiness And Respectability

Humans are liable to experience a variety of afflictions, but they are commonly endowed with a capacity for happiness and respectability.

There is no guarantee, however, that they will exercise this capacity at all times and to the maximum, whatever happens. Depression and shame remain a possibility, which increases with the severity of their afflictions and the difficulty of living up to the values that are necessary for their happiness and respectability: courage, efficiency, wisdom, and nobility.

Living up to these values is never easy, even under extremely favorable circumstances. It requires an effort of will. To make or not to make this effort is the question, central to the human existence. This question is difficult in proportion to the weight of suffering that bears on humans, while their dignity hangs in the balance.

The more burdensome this weight, the more tempting it is for them to take the easy way out. The fear of losing their dignity, however, is a strong deterrent. There is no greater loss than that of dignity, save the loss of life itself. Yet, the easy way out is a very powerful temptation in extremely unfavorable circumstances. Giving up instead of living up to the values mentioned above is then deplorable but understandable. Excruciating circumstances are extenuating ones.

Amazingly enough, despite the burden of suffering that is oppressive to many, the incidence of moral collapse – in the form of errant ways like carelessness, vagrancy, and crime, often accompanied by alcohol or drug abuse to fuddle the conscience – is small in comparison with the incidence of worthy behavior. Furthermore, a moral collapse is remediable, except when the person concerned shows an inveterate or congenital weakness, or a mental illness that is beyond cure. On the whole, dignity can be lost and regained.

As for those who resist quitting the struggle for worthiness, they rarely do their best. In many instances their spirit is tainted with some degree of indulgence in laziness, cowardliness, ineffectiveness, foolishness, selfishness, and meanness. It has the grayness of dawn.

Even those who shine like a late morning sun have a shadow of imperfection at their heels. In short, humanity has yet to fulfill its potential. While there is much courage, efficiency, wisdom, and nobility in the world, much happiness and respectability, there could be a whole lot more. The key to this rise is an effort of will.

By: Laurent Grenier

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

<georss:box>4.8593441394873835 -159.42187249660492 71.94340213948738 -39.89062249660492</georss:box>

Three Inspirations For Happiness

Three Inspirations For Happiness

The following three inspirations were adapted from A Daily Dose of Happiness, and they represent three key ways to increase our happiness.

1. FORGIVING FOR HAPPINESS

We like to think we are better than our friends below us in the food chain, such as the octopus and the snail. After all, we have love. We feel happiness. We have empathy. We have a conscience. We can reason.

We can also hold onto grudges.

Grudges are, in fact, prickly little creatures that worm their way into our hearts. Holding onto them is a self-defeating exercise.

Fortunately, forgiveness is also uniquely human. Forgiveness cleanses the spirit. Forgiveness let's us get on with enjoying our lives instead of being preoccupied with someone else's. Forgiveness opens the door to happiness.

2. SUPPORTING FOR HAPPINESS

When things seem to be very bleak, it does not take much to lift someone's spirits. Sometimes all it takes is to let somebody know they are not alone.

That is why it is so important to smile at people, especially if they look down. And if you know what is weighing the person down, let them know they are not alone. Don't go burdening them with all your miseries, but let them know you have been there.

Guess what? You will feel happiness for having helped them, too.

3. ACCEPTING FOR HAPPINESS

There is no such thing as happiness if you are not at peace with yourself. Too many people just don't know how to make peace with themselves.

Peace begins with acceptance. Whether we agree with everything we do (like the environmentalist who sometimes throws out a recyclable container), it is important to accept what we do.

Do we always make the best choices? No. But they are the choices we make.

Do we always treat people with the most respect? No. But it is how we treat people.

Can we improve? Yes, and we should. But that is a project for the future. First we must accept who we are now, rather than condemning ourselves. Then we can move to improve the person we will be tomorrow. Both acceptance today and improvements tomorrow will increase our happiness.
.
By: amabaie

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

The Pursuit Of Happiness- Your Choice

The Pursuit Of Happiness- Your Choice

Doesn't everyone want to be 100% happy? How about 200% happier? So why aren't you? Below see how this can come true for you.

Have you ever noticed how often people rely on others in their pursuit of happiness? How they expect someone else to make them happy? You might hear people say things like: "If only he would be nicer." "Didn't she know that would hurt my feelings?"I would be happy if he would only listen to me more."

When people have this idea in their head they can spend a lot of time figuring out how to fix or change other people.

What's the trouble if you try this strategy? Not only do the other people feel irritated, they often get defensive at your attempt to "FIX" them. And it leaves you powerless. If THEY don't change, YOU can't be happy.

But even more important is that, since what you focus your attention on grows, focusing on what you don't like will cause it to become what you notice most in your life.

Say, for example, when your significant other comes home they often leave a trail with their clothes, bags, books, whatever, strewn throughout the house. It drives you nuts! Every time you look at the residue of stuff they leave behind them, you feel irritated.

This has gone on for so long that now you notice every little piece of debris, everywhere you look, all the time.

And what you focus your attention on grows.

Perhaps you say something like this to them: "Can't you pick up after yourself? You are such a slob."

It's probably not the first time you've talked about the clothes on the floor. And probably not much has changed since that first time. So what happens next?

Your partner probably is irritated at being told not to leave his/her clothes around. You lose hope that things will ever change. And you spend all your time noticing what you don't enjoy about your partner.

Remember, what you focus your attention on grows!

So here it is, the step that will move you closer to being happier than ever before: Develop YOUR ability to focus your attention on what you ENJOY.

Maybe this sounds too simple. But ask yourself: "What would my day be like if I started and ended it by simply noticing or remembering everything that I enjoy in my life?"

Remember, what you focus your attention on grows. Focus on what you enjoy - it's the simpliest, most enjoyable way to begin happiness in your life now.

Try this. Pretend that you have an emotional bank account. Every one of your thoughts makes a deposit. This means that if you're constantly depositing painful memories in your emotional bank account, they will grow and grow.

They'll even start multiplying if you're using the law of compound interest. What's this? It's compounding the effect of thoughts like: "What a slob!" with more thoughts like: "She doesn't care about me." or "He's the most selfish person I've ever met."

Now, do you feel happy?

Imagine everyday finding things that you enjoy, and that you have gratitude for.

Your significant other comes into the house and smiles. Is that something to be thankful for? They ask if you would like to go out to dinner. Is that something to be thankful for? You see them put something away, without being asked. Is that something to be thankful for?

Now imagine depositing these memories in your emotional bank account, day after day. And compound them with as many other thankful, grateful thoughts as you can so they grow and grow. "It's lovely when he brings me tea; he's so considerate sometimes." "I'm so glad we like doing things together." "We just have so much in common; she is so much fun to be with"

How do you feel now?

Happy or sad, good or bad, pleasure or pain - authentic happiness is up to you. Focus on what you enjoy. Enjoy being thankful. It's something anyone can do, even you.

What you focus your attention on will grow. You do have an emotional bank account so start saving your happiness up today. With a bank-full of thankful, you will be the best at being happy now."

By: Beth Banning and Neill Gibson

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

Happy Face Parties Still Make Us Smile

Happy Face Parties Still Make Us Smile

The sunshine yellow of the happy face paper party goods are still the cheery symbol of all that's right in the world. These beautiful reminders to keep smiling do indeed brighten the table setting of most non-holiday parties.

A birthday, promotion at work, or just a group meeting can be more festive with these paper party goods to cheer us on. It's even better when used together with the pastel paper goods left over from Easter parties. Try using the pink and lavender napkins together with the happy face paper plates and tablecloth to get a little more mileage out of those after-Easter clearance items. The pastel foil colored candies still make great party treats even though they are marked half price the day after a holiday.

Since yellow is a primary color, red or blue napkins left from Independence Day can be used with them to decorate in late summer. A pool party or cook out is enough reason to add a little decorative touch to the picnic table. Those enormous sunflowers that were planted to the side of the house will add just the right background for this summer like table setting.

These happy face paper party goods really are great for any season and can be mixed with the solid orange and brown paper goods sold to decorate the autumn table. When used with browns these yellow and orange decorations are more festive than at any other time of year.

If children are invited it might be nice to organize some relays or yard games and give happy face stickers out to the winners. Another sunny idea is to decorate small bags with happy face stickers and fill each with candies or simple toys to use as favors. With names lettered on the side they become place-cards.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Gail_Leino

<georss:box>6.730788346859001 -157.66405999660492 72.80073234685901 -38.13280999660492</georss:box>

Top 5 Happiness Exercises

Top 5 Happiness Exercises

Happiness, as a state of mind, is the aggregate of life experiences at a particular point of time in your life. In simple terms, what that means is that a number of factors contribute to your feelings of happiness. For instance, heredity and circumstances contribute to approximately 60% of your happiness. These are factors over which you have little control. However, the other 40% of your happiness is controlled by your own decisions and actions. Fortunately, this much is enough to keep your cup brimming with happiness.

There are ways in which you can increase your happiness. These are simple exercises that may be practiced regularly until they become life habits.

Practice gratitude: This is one of the best ways to achieve a constant state of happiness. Each one us has a number of things to be grateful for. The air that you breathe, your body, your home, your hair – there’s always something to be grateful for. Find it. It will make you happy.

Think kind thoughts: Often, our internal talk is all about negativities. There is stuff going on in our minds that is more toxic than arsenic. Stop defeating self talk. Instead, think of someone who is less fortunate and send up a prayer. Think of some adversities in your own life and of how you managed to overcome them. Think back on your day and find at least three good things that happened that day. Think ‘smiley’ thoughts!

Random acts of kindness: Human beings have an innate desire to act kindly. However, most of us have lost touch with these feelings of kindness even though the number of people who could benefit from these acts of kindness has more than quadrupled. If you were to practice three acts of kindness everyday for a month, your cup will overflow.

Smile: How many times do you smile in a day? You may think that you’re doing it all the time, but most of us go through the day with grumpy faces, wrinkled brows and a grimace. Lift the corners of your mouth and smile consciously. A smile has the ability to lift your spirits and make you feel good.

Bolster yourself: Many times, we are overly critical of ourselves. This is not really our fault. The world has taught us that if we want to excel, we need to put ourselves through the grind. There’s no easy path to success, remember? But, such thoughts rob us of our ability to appreciate ourselves. Take a piece of pen and paper and write down three events that portrayed the best of you. Pin this up where you can see it and read it every day.

Happiness does not come automatically. Nor does it come from chance encounters with luck, beauty or fame. You cannot be happy simply because you’re a millionaire, just as you won’t be sad just because you cannot afford three square meals a day. Happiness is not transient. It is an attitude, and luckily, it can be developed with a little effort. Start with the happiness exercises above. You’ll soon find more ways to seek out happiness.

By: Mark Merissa

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

Manifesting Happiness In 6 Action Steps

Manifesting Happiness In 6 Action Steps

Entrepreneurs may feel that they are manifesting happiness by spending time on earning a good income and keeping up with their needs and wants; however, they may actually be dwelling in a state of unhappiness. We know this by the way we see them struggle. There is no ‘flow’ and they are overworked and exhausted.

What is needed is a change in the focus of their intentions. Spending time with people who are truly manifesting their happiness will help accomplish this. Modeling someone who is energetic, fulfilled, open and committed is a good first step. Someone who lives in their passion and purpose while pursuing material needs usually aspires to fulfill inner or spiritual needs as well.

For those who wish to manifest happiness in a new and heartfelt way, action steps are discussed below.
1. When should you pursue happiness? Should you look for happiness when you reach the next level of success in your business? After retirement? Or should you do it now, today, in the moment?

Many entrepreneurs work diligently to get to the next level, while leaving all else to the dust of indifference. They wait for the next level of achievement or for the magic day of retirement. They sacrifice everything: friends, family and personal fulfillment, to accomplish their goals. Is this manifesting true and lasting happiness?

2. Be in control of your time. For happy people, time is filled and planned; for unhappy people, time is unfilled, open and uncommitted. Happy people feel that they have some control over their lives. Unhappy people feel that they have lost control over their lives.

3. Own the traits of happy people. A happy person sees magic by looking at the stars at night, by picking a few flowers in their garden or by watching a puppy at play. No sacrifice here, no cost, no energy expended. All is energizing rather than enervating.

Happy people are optimistic, outgoing and have a feeling of high self-esteem. They are interested in life around them and have a caring attitude. They engage in activities and skills that focus on their passion, often times losing themselves in the flow of absorbing activity.

4. Be in motion during the day. Those who are consciously manifesting happiness enjoy physical activity on a daily basis. When feeling tired or low, studies have shown that exercise is energizing.

A person manifesting happiness is active throughout the day and enjoys movement as an expression of creativity and of life. Happiness cannot hide itself. We can see happiness in a person even as they walk down the street.

5. Get physical and mental rest. Most people remain happy only when they are in top energetic form. Proper rest may mean 6 hours for one person and 8 hours for another. It could be a 20 minute catnap or 10 minutes of deep relaxation; perhaps 5 minutes of meditation before and after work and at lunchtime will do it. Each person is different.

6. Take care of the soul. A happy person regularly reads inspiring books. They stay spiritually active by keeping company with other like-minded people. Most people manifesting happiness are aligned in some way with a greater cause: saving the rainforest, sending goods and services to countries in need, belonging to a prayer group or other creative and expansive endeavors that takes them beyond the usual scope of their lives.

Jefferson’s pursuit of happiness is found in his Declaration of Independence as one of his inalienable rights. We are perhaps never in a state of total happiness but are forever pursuing happiness. Joy can be found in the pursuit. Often when we reach what we feel is happiness, we see that there is an even greater or deeper state of happiness.

We can pursue great outer successes and make good inner progress, but let us be attentive to the little things that matter. We are fulfilling our soul as we continue to seek and to become happy. When we continue, continue, continue, ultimately, we will be in a state of constantly manifesting happiness - an exemplary goal.

By: Rijuta Tooker

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

True Happiness And Its Secrets

True Happiness And Its Secrets

Understanding what is true happiness, is the first secret to it all. After all happiness is not that elusive pot of gold people dream of at the end of the rainbow. It is all your state of mind rather than your situation.

Family and friends surround the happiest people in the world, for happy people don't care about what their neighbours have and tend to lose themselves in daily activities. Vanuatu, with a low ecological footprint, was voted the Happiest Country on Earth, in 2006. This tiny South Pacific tropical island nation, had a GNP that was rated 207, out of the 233 countries world-wide. This proved that money is not the key to happiness for happiness is not something you can go out and buy.

"The happiest people judge themselves by their own yardsticks, never against what others do, or have", says Martin. E.P. Seligman, Pennsylvania psychologist.

Others say that the happiest people are those who have learnt the art of forgiving easily. Psychologists do agree that gratitude is a major factor in life satisfaction and experiencing the feeling of well being.

The common perception of Western society seems to be that happiness is the outcome of what people achieve, or acquire. These are people who live by the'‘If only…' syndrome. Yet, you can achieve everything you want and still be miserable. On the other hand you can have very little and yet be filled with joy.

When a young man was recently in danger of losing his eyesight he came face to face with a new reality. "An eye is worth at least five million dollars. You have two of them? You're rich. If you really appreciate your eyesight, then the other miseries are nothing. Yet if you take it all for granted, then nothing in life will ever truly give you joy".

It is possible to intellectually understand how to attain happiness, so the experts all say, yet not put it into practice, for in the end happiness is an attitude of choice. It's how you choose to look at life. It is possible to intellectually understand how to attain happiness, so the experts all say, yet not put it into practice, for in the end happiness is an attitude of choice. It's how you choose to look at life. There are some people who prefer to be comfortable and unhappy, rather than make the effort and wear the discomfort of changing their habits in the search of true happiness.

For others, the key to happiness is based on being considerate of the people they come in contact with. It is well documented that we subconsciously mimic those around us. This is an easy theory to prove. Simply walk into a roomful of people with a smile on your face. Half an hour later walk into the same room with a scowl on your face. Watch the reflective reaction of those around you.

The scientific community is now one in its opinion that the search for happiness is becoming more scientific and a field of vital exploration. American social philosopher, Eric Hoffer, however states, "The search for happiness is one of the chief sources of unhappiness".

Perhaps happiness in January 2009, is not having lost a fortune on the stock market in 2008. Here are a few tips that you may find useful in your quest for happiness:

• Visualize current and future events in isolation
• Realize bad times are an inevitable part of the life cycle
• Rationalize and adjust to the low times as quickly as possible
• Always remember tomorrow is new day. A chance for a new beginning
• Trust in your own resilience – you can always go a lot further than you
think you can.

Finally, try a very simple formula to happiness. Each evening sit down with your spouse, partner, or roommate and talk about just one pleasure that each of you had during the day. If you are a family, incorporate this into your family routine so that your children also learn to appreciate the daily joys of living. Often it is the small things that make the difference.

Life is full of those once in a lifetime Blue Moon Opportunities, that can make or break you. Success it not happiness, but failure to try, leads to a life full of regrets. Here’s wishing you all the happiness you can find in 2009.

By: Lynette Thomas

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

<georss:box>24.291887356071218 -131.30859375 57.40223335607122 -71.54296875</georss:box>

Helping Others Find Their Own Happiness

Helping Others Find Their Own Happiness

They say happiness is an elusive thing. You do not exactly look for it or chase it. Being happy is on of the greatest emotions a human being can experience. It is an exhilarating feeling of being alive, an invigorating lift of the spirits. A laughter that elicits the joys of rejoicing. Sometimes, in our own true quest for happiness, one major factor gets overlooked. Happiness is even more meaningful and worthwhile when we help others find it as well. There is this inherent delight in knowing you helped others finding their own visions of happiness because the mere selfless act of helping creates joy.

It is like sharing your life with them as well. There are 3 major keys to help others find happiness. 1.) Motivate and inspire-You know the feeling when there is somebody that inspires, you whom you look up to you; likewise motivating you that you can be all that you ever want to be in your life. This is one of the best things a person can do for someone to help them attain happiness or bring back the joy that was once lost or forgotten to even just to smile a bit. Look for ways on how to motivate and encourage people.

There are times when even a simple act of a friendly hug, a warm smile, a pat on the back, a firm handshake or by just telling them of your trust and belief in them is enough to make them glad. 2.) Give yourself freely. Most saints like Mother Teresa are best paragons of giving selfless acts of kindness by giving freely of themselves. Although sometimes, it is difficult, but giving freely of yourself is a rewarding experience. One effortless way to do this is by participating or joining in an organization or support groups of any kind. These are remarkable because you do not have to worry or try to find out how to give freely of yourself.

All they need is your presence and you just have to do what it needs to b done. It shows another charitable side of you, when you give unconditionally and never asking for anything in return. You may have no idea what happiness you can bestow to someone by just being there, sharing stories, bringing laughter, or by merely volunteering even a couple of hours or more a month of your time. 3.) Be a classic living example of how it is done. The greatest and effective way to really help people find their own happiness is to live very happily yourself.

By doing so, you will naturally show people that yes, it is actually possible and capable to live a very happy and fulfilling life. They will emulate you and you become their epitome for happy living. You will be a classic inspiration to many. They will think that if it can happen to some, then it can happen to them also. Ultimately, since you already knew how well to do it and live by it, teaching other people in succeeding how to live a happy and meaningful life will be much more easier.

By: Amy Twain

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

A Happiness Is The Key To Prosperity

A Happiness Is The Key To Prosperity

Yes, we are posed with a myriad of challenges in our struggle to find our niche in a society that is amongst the most competitive in the world. Culturally, the many communities are for most intent and purposes a happy go lucky cultural. Our music, our food and our basic approach to the celebration of life in general is an upbeat happy existence.

The challenge comes in when we deviate from taking stock on: who we are, where we come from, how we find ourselves in the current situation, falling in to counterproductive behavioral modes; that leave no more for progressive growth. Author and researcher Gregg Easterbrook states:

"It requires some effort to achieve a happy outlook on life, and most people don't make it."

From personal experiences as a migrant farm worker; working the agriculture fields of Fresno, San Joaquin, Monterrey and Orange Counties in the heat, with no water, no breaks, no toilets’, the list goes on we still found time to sing while working and talking about where we would be hanging out in the evenings particularly the weekends.

You see attitude is everything. Happiness is not just about money but also a sense of personal spiritual salvation. Not getting caught up with materialism and understanding that happiness is based on health coupled with a strong base of faith. A strong healthy spiritual faith based approach to life will ultimately evolve a humble appreciation for happiness and gratitude.

If you are experiencing a sense of gloominess and unfulfilled; break away from it now. Take a look at those less-fortunate, then give thanks for your situation of being whole. Identify good friends, find the niche that will make you a happy camper, get connected to your spiritual foundation, be optimistic, think positive, be prepared to help others who need happiness; you will be surprised the rewards in helping others. Finally, don’t ever be afraid to love. Love life, love people, love what you do, love the great day you are having and love what you expect to see; what is coming to you in the future.
By: Dr. Richard C. Have you actually made the decision to be happy in your life?

Do you have fun living your life each day? Are you having fun living your life today, right now?

If not, why not?

Wouldn’t it be terrific to wake up in the morning full of gratitude for the opportunity to live a great life today, and then to go out and live it? How would that make you feel? What would that look like for you? What would it sound like?

You can have all of that, and you can experience all of that; and you can begin to have this right now, starting today.

Do you believe me? Clearly there is something inside of you that, at the very least, wants to believe these words.

I spent 23 years of my adult life (not to mention most of my formative childhood years) believing that I had to live my life according to someone else’s rules. I was locked into a formula that was essentially prescribed to me by the environment (parents, schools, government, church, etc.) in which I was raised.

It went something like this: get a good education, get a good job, work hard and keep your nose to the grindstone, scrimp and save your money, put off what you’d love to do until later, avoid taking any risks, and if you’re lucky you’ll get to enjoy yourself in your twilight years.

Does this sound vaguely familiar?

In my particular case, it actually was working out reasonably well. I had a “good job”, was earning a reasonable salary and had achieved a degree of success in my life. Or at least that’s how it appeared on the outside.

But on the inside, I was miserable. I was caught up in the struggle of my day-to-day life – quite literally choosing to make it a struggle without ever realizing that’s what I was doing. I was in a sleep walk of day-to-day drudgery. I was most definitely not living the life of my dreams, the life I love.

Until one day I simply decided it was time to stop. I chose to wake up.

Finally there came a day when I simply couldn’t take it anymore and so I made the decision that it was time to stop. I made the decision to change the way I was living and to jump off of the treadmill. I made the decision to change my life. I made the decision to begin living my life on my terms.

The effect was magical. A thousand pound weight was lifted off my shoulders. I felt relieved. I felt alive. I felt inspired. I began actually enjoying my life.

And so now here I am suggesting to you that you can begin to live the life you want – the life you love – right now beginning today.

Because all it really takes is for you to make the decision.

Oh, I know that sounds simplistic. Yet it’s true, and deep down there’s a part of you that knows it’s true.

By truly making that decision – that single, mental decision – everything changes. Everything changes because your perspective changes.

For me, my decision led to some very explicit actions. I resigned from my job and decided to build my own business with my wife Michelle, from home. Frankly I had no idea how any of it was going to work and how we’d be able to pay the bills or keep the kids fed and clothed, except that I believed it would. Looking back now, I suppose I just knew it would.

Well, go figure, things have worked out beautifully. The sky didn’t fall. The world didn’t end. Things have certainly changed, mind you. We don’t hang out with all of the same people we used to. Our activities have become more focused on family and friends as opposed to fitting things around my job. We live a much more relaxed life. We have more fun. We have fun every day.

What about you? What do you love? What are the things you’d love to do right now with your life? Can you feel them calling you?

If you can, then listen to and follow them. For there is one thing that is absolutely true: there is no need to struggle in your life. You make real whatever you believe is real. This is the basic law of the universe, the law of attraction.

So the first thing to do is to let go of the notion that it’s different for you ,or that somehow you are not allowed to live the life you want. Let go of the notion that you’re somehow not deserving of that privilege. Stop marginalizing yourself.

You deserve to be happy and enjoy your life. That’s the whole point of living – to experience the joy of it.

Yes, the entire idea of following your bliss can be extremely frightening. And fear leads to all sorts of wild emotions, but that’s part of being human. Remember though, fear is all in your head. It’s all about what you imagine might happen. Those wild emotions that you feel as a result of your fears need not define you.

In his book, Conversations With God, Neale Donald Walsh tells us we have three tools of creation. They are thought, words, and action. It is your thoughts, your words, and your actions that define you – for they are the summation of who you are being.

So this begs the question, who do you want to be?

Get in touch with your own truth about who you want to be and then start being that person right now, today. Begin to live your passion and enjoy your life. It’s much easier than you suspect. It’s remarkably easy to let the “how” unfold; just let your inspiration be your guide.

Your inspiration will never misguide you. By being focused on who and what you want to be, you will be inspired to think the thoughts, speak the words and take the actions that make that being your reality. The more you are being, the more you’ll be doing and the more you’ll be having what you want. The more you will be living the life that you love. And so the circle repeats, over and over, with each cycle more strongly reinforcing who you are and what you love to be.

It’s a magnificent thing. It’s freedom.

And so now it is time for you to begin your path to living the life you love. Begin living the life you want right now.

Begin by making the decision to be happy with your life right now. Begin today.
By: Warren H Wojnowski

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

The Keys To Long-term Happiness

The Keys To Long-term Happiness
By: Doug Hart

In order to really secure a happiness that will last beyond the immediate “rush” of whatever is making you smile at the moment, you must find a balance between all of the major areas in your life. These are easily identified by most people, but we tend to forget how important each component is in our lives until some crisis in one area brings it back into focus.

Many people associate only one or two different components in their lives as bringing them happiness: money, spirituality, relationships, or health. However, research has shown unequivocally that it really takes a measure of abundance in each of these main areas to really achieve a true, lasting happiness. In addition, I would add some more to the mix myself, which I will explain later.

Do have a really terrific relationship, but never seem to have enough money to feel secure? Perhaps you suffer from the opposite situation, plenty of money but never finding happiness or satisfaction from your relationships? Everyone would love to have success in both these areas of life, but how to achieve it is the question.

I think we get caught up in the “motivation trap” of chasing one dream and tend to forget about all of the other things that make us happy. There is an old saying “he who tries to catch two rabbits, usually ends up with none”. How many people (especially men, I hate to say) are very driven in their careers and make good money, but end up in the hospital due to the neglect to their health? High blood pressure, poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking, they are all problems that you cannot ignore for long if you want health happiness. You might say “where do I find the time” when it comes to getting healthy?

The truth is most of us waste far more time doing little or nothing, due to our lack of focus in life. We watch TV, talk on the phone, and spend hours surfing the web (guilty as charged!). If you find you can’t exercise due to time constraints, why not fit a 30-minute workout in while the morning before work?

Maybe right after work, before going home to relax and have dinner? I have found that a workout actually brings my mental energy back into focus too, which gives me more physical energy. The point is if you want to be healthy, you must find the time to exercise and the discipline to eat better food. Being a fanatic about it isn’t necessary, but some degree of attention towards our health is certainly good, right? Somewhat of a no-brainer, really

Ok, what about the other important areas? Let’s take spirituality for example. Many people go to church or synagogue to fulfill their needs for spirituality, but do you have to in order to find true happiness? Of course not, but you may find yourself lacking a certain peace of mind if you don’t do some soul-searching once in awhile.

Like a feeling that you forgot something, it will continue to gnaw at you until you fulfill this need. We all seem to have a need to believe in a higher power, and most studies show that people that have at least a belief in a higher power feel better about their lives than those that don’t. My guess is it’s a basic human desire to feel connected to this higher power, but church is also a terrific social outlet for people as well.

This brings me to another important component of happiness – relationships. I’m not just talking about husband/wife, or even the immediate family relationship (children, parents, grandparents), although those are all important, right? What about your necessity to be around others, to get out and talk with and meet new people?

This is very important to a healthy personality and to happiness itself. You may know of someone that shuns social situations, and if so think about what that person’s level of happiness is. Probably not that great, I’m guessing. We all need to socialize at least some of the time, although not all people have the need as frequently as some others do.

My last pillar of happiness would have to be freedom; we all need a measure of freedom, or independence if you will, to be able to make decisions for ourselves. To feel in control of our lives at some level is quite necessary to happiness. Just think about how hard it would be for you to be happy if you had no choice about what job you could do each day, or where you could live, or what persons you were allowed to spend time with. Let alone the freedoms we take for granted like speech, freedom to leave our homes at will, and express ourselves with music, religion, taste in clothes. The list goes on forever!

I guess my conclusion is, don’t concentrate on just one area of your life thinking it will bring happiness. Sit down and make a list of the things that may need more attention, one pillar at a time, and work on bringing more abundance in that area. Your happiness level should see a definite increase!
By: Doug Hart

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

How Do You Define Happiness?

How Do You Define Happiness?
By: Doug Hart

Today’s topic is one that has been pondered for centuries, the true meaning of happiness. Aristotle said “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence”. Do you agree?

Ok, in the big picture of things nearly everything we do on a daily basis is in one way or another related to obtaining happiness, or at the very least avoiding pain (some people work to not have their car repossessed!).

But we all know there are different levels of happiness, many indeed. Some people may be happy because they were raised to be that way, having parents that always saw the best of any situation. Unfortunately, some people are miserable not matter how circumstances are treating them in life. Why?

I think there are several reasons for this, but mostly we are as happy as we make up our minds to be (Abraham Lincoln said that first, not me!) So why don’t we all just make up our minds to be happy? Great question – I’ll try to answer it.

It starts with our “version” of reality, our perceptions of what reality is to us as an individual. Now, depending on your circumstances growing up, you literally had millions of different events that influenced your reality, so every person has a different version.

The way you experience a trip to the beach may be totally different than my way, due to some incident that occurred to you as a child. Say you nearly were eaten by a shark once – that probably gave you “bad taste” in your mouth when trips to the beach are mentioned.

See what I mean? Yes! But I’m an adult now, I can believe anything I want to believe! True, but think about some of the things you believe in. What do you believe would make you happy? Do you have all of those things? If not, then why not?

Ah-hah! That’s what I thought – very few people actually have what they feel would make them happy! Do you even know, in great detail, what would make you happy? And don’t say a million dollars, because that by itself rarely makes people happy.

I know, at least you could try, right? Ok, make a list!Find out what you believe in your heart would make you happy…Ok, how about peace of mind? A totally perfect relationship with your spouse? A large home in the mountains with a beautiful view?

How about a career that really makes you want to go to work every day? What would it take to have all of the things on your list, if you don’t already have them?

You probably need to change yourself. But what if you have all of those things and more, but still aren’t happy? I believe many people achieve all they set out to achieve, yet true happiness still eludes them. First, find your passion in life.

Chances are if you haven’t found your true passion in life, then you aren’t happy. Or maybe you are “conditionally happy”, in other words if all is going well then your happy for the moment.

But I believe to be truly happy on very deep level on a daily basis, a happiness that is unbending and unwavering not matter what the circumstances, you must first find your passion in life. So what are you waiting for?

By: Doug Hart
Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

10 Steps to Becoming Happy Now

10 Steps to Becoming Happy Now
By Steven Milbrandt

Feeling happy is something everyone wants. Whether on not you admit it to yourself, being happy is something each of us seeks. The positive feelings the come from helping others and doing something well are wonderful.

These are two examples of actions that we take that provide us good feelings. This reinforces our desire to do more. A cycle of positive repeatable actions not only benefits the intended recipient but also the giver. This is an example of a tangible action with verifiable results. Philanthropists do what they do for a number of reasons.

They often express it this way: They want to give back for the good they have received. Yes they may not do what they do for purely altruistic reasons, but neither can we, nor should we attempt to determine motives by speculation.

Isn't it better to make every attempt to live a happy and satisfied life and help others to do the same? A famous person once said, "Give enough people what they want and you will get what you want too." The problem is that negative circumstances and problems seem to crowd our lives.

The result is that often people become overwhelmed, discouraged and depressed. How can you move from feeling negative, despite all that is around you that makes you feel much less positive than you would like to be?

Below are "10 Steps to Being Happy Now". Read them through and find more information at the end of this article.

1. Realize that feelings whether good or bad are just feelings. This means that you can change them. You are the one who gives yourself permission to feel a certain way in any given moment. No one else can tell you how to feel.

2. A feeling is a signal that your body gives you to take action. Recognize this and evaluate what your next step should be. Often we don't know what steps to take or take the wrong action. This does not resolve the problem. Often it only makes it worse. Try to be aware of the signals that your mental and physical states are trying to tell you and take corrective action. Sometimes these feelings are the result of negative events just past.

3. Sometimes events trigger negative associations from the past and we are not even aware of this. A long passed event buried in our subconscious mind can resurface. Therefore be as aware of your past as possible and reinforce negative events with positive ones in your mind.

4. Your mind is like a computer. It will play back to us whatever we give it. If we focus on negative things, then that is what will show up in our thoughts and actions most often. Give yourself positive thoughts and associations. When you find yourself thinking a negative thing, force yourself to stop the thought process in your head and replace it with something positive.

5. Reflect on all the good things there are in your life. The fact that you are even able to evaluate your situation and move toward some positive outcome is a good thing.

6. Take time to step outside of your situation and do some good for someone else. Even if it is just listening to someone or offering your time to them. This is a worthwhile contribution and a valuable gift. Time is limited so when you give some away for the good of others, you really are giving of yourself.

7. Remember that the person you are now is the result of all your past thoughts and actions. While this may seems scary, if we used that information to act and think more positively, we can change our outcomes and begin living a better and more fulfilling life.

8. Give yourself permission to be sad or depressed and a negative event, situation or circumstances for a specific set period then move on with a fresh outlook and optimism.

9. Resolve that the most important choice you can make on a daily basis regardless of your circumstance is your choice of attitude.

10. Being happy is not dependent on what you have. Some of the poorest people on the planet are the happiest. In contrast, some of the richest are the unhappiest.

If you set your happiness on things, you will always be disappointed. True happiness comes from inside. This is often related to finding something bigger than us to believe it.

When we look for the good around us we will find it. Inspire someone today with your keen sense of self, a positive self-image and a passion for helping others.

Happiness does not need to be elusive and complicated. Become aware of the signals that your mental and physical body is giving you. Learn to take proper action of the electro-chemical signals in your body and you will find happiness

source: http://ezinearticles.com/?10-Steps-to-Becoming-Happy-Now&id=1394521

How to Be Happy in Your Life

How to Be Happy in Your Life

By Sean R Mize

Happiness can mean different things to different people. Our personalities and what we are passionate about, our life experiences and our expectations all play a role in determining the level of happiness in our lives. Some need a sense of success in their professional lives whereas for others, a good personal life matters more than anything else. Irrespective of what brings you the greatest happiness, there are some proven ways in which you can understand the true value of it. These will help you bring in and maintain even more happiness in your life.

- Seeing things the right way. It is truly said that while some see life as a glass that is half-empty, others see it as half-full. And do you want to take any guesses as to who are the happier for it? So the next time you are stuck in the rain or your flight is delayed, take the time and read something you have been wanting to for some time. Give time to resolving a problem that has been worrying you for some time. Every time there is a problem, see what you can do to resolve it. If the situation is unavoidable, see what you can do to make the best of it. By the end of the day, you will not end up all frustrated and tired at all the inconveniences and obstacles but fairly content and at peace for having gotten so much done despite all the bad breaks.

- Be Truly Grateful. Count the number of times that you say thank you in a day. True, there may be many. How many did you say after truly understanding and appreciating the efforts that have gone in - whether it is your wife getting lunch for you, your husband doing the dishes or the waitress who is serving you hot coffee? Take some time and make the effort to tell people how much you appreciate what they are doing for you. Mean every 'thank you' you say.

- Being Kids Again. Do you remember what it was like to be a child, always curious about various things and thrilled at the smallest of them? Catching a beautiful butterfly or splashing in rain puddles. These were what gave you a great sense of elation. Try forgetting that you are an adult and indulge yourself as a child once in while.

- Be Kind. Being kind and helping others to do so will help you feel like a much better person. Also looking at people who are less fortunate than you are will help you get a completely different perspective on your life. The kind of happiness that spreads when you are kind to someone is extremely contagious and once you acquire the habit of giving, you will keep giving and making yourself and several others happy as a result.

- Moving Forward. Many a times, we are deeply affected by events or we are plagued by problems over which we do not have any control. If we just sit and brood over them, we are not going to find a solution. In fact at times it is just best if we put on a happy face and keep moving forward. This does not mean we do not have to be honest or real but that we just need to keep moving forward. And if that means to put on a forced smile, then so be it. In fact research has shown that putting on a happy face and smiling at all times, even in the face of great adversity will go a long way in helping us overcome the very same problems.

- Learn to Forgive. How many times have friends and colleagues betrayed you by putting their interests before you? In fact, the worst is when someone from your family does the same thing. However, if your friend, colleague or family member is truly repentant, learn to forgive him or her. Bearing a grudge will only drag you down and negative emotions will only drive out all the passion from your life.

source : http://ezinearticles.com/?How-to-Be-Happy-in-Your-Life&id=1601797

Don’t Worry Be Happy

Don’t Worry Be Happy
by: Lisa Branigan

Being stressed is not part of a healthy lifestyle. Not only is stress damaging to us physically, it can also cause us to eat more and exercise less.

Stress can be a huge obstacle that gets in the way of our healthy lifestyle goals. What can you do to effectively manage your stress?

The following six steps will help you to make changes to have less stress and more happiness in your life.

1. Be aware of what stresses you and how you react to stress.Learn to understand what situations; events, circumstances and people cause you to feel negative stress. Think about what message your brain is telling you about why you feel stressed. Notice the physical reactions you have, a racing heart, and shortness of breath, tight muscles or feeling angry and upset.

2. Think about the changes you can make.Is there a way you can set up a structure to reduce or eliminate the stress by being more organised or managing you time better. Can you avoid or eliminate any of the things that cause you negative stress? Can you reduce your exposure to stress by taking a break away from the situation?

3. Better manage your emotional reaction to stress.Different things cause different people stress. You may find public speaking extremely stressful but others thrive on this type of challenge. Having too many deadlines may leave you tearing your hair out but may make someone else feel completely organised and less stressed. We feel stressed because of how we personally perceive the situation. Are you stressed because you view things are critical or urgent when that may not be the case? Are you feeling pressure because you are a perfectionist? Try and be more moderate in your view and put the situation into perspective. Get someone else’s perspective on the situation and compare with your own. Are you being over dramatic?

4. Better manage your physical reaction to stress.Learn relaxation and deep breathing techniques that will slow down your racing heart, improve your breathing and relax those tense muscles. Learn to smile and laugh more. It’s hard to be angry and stressed while you’re laughing.

5. Look after your emotional needs.Don’t live up to other expectations, as these will not be in alignment with your own needs and values. Hang around upbuilding and supportive friends or co-workers. Find someone to share your concerns with. Also learn to ask for and accept help.

6. Look after your physical health.Being in good physical shape in itself reduces stress. Be physically active everyday. Eat well, don’t smoke or drink excessively. Get enough sleep and regularly take time out to do things you enjoy.

This week look at what is causing you stress and then work at applying the appropriate steps in this article. Be realistic and make changes slowly. Above all, don’t worry be happy!

About the author:"Lisa Branigan is a certified Life Coach helping successful women create a less pressured, more enjoyable lifestyle" She is a speaker, writer, regular radio guest and contributor to magazines and newspapers. Once we do this, we can see that being alive is truly a wonderful gift that is meant to be enjoyed and savored.

There is always something that we can think about to be happy about. You may choose to remember a life-changing event such as the birth of a child.

You may find your happiness in receiving a cup of your favorite coffee while enjoying the aroma and flavor of the brew. You might catch a glimpse of a beautiful sparkle of light shining through a piece of colored glass.

If you find yourself unable to bring up a happy memory or are unable to enjoy a simple pleasure, you need to take the time to examine what is blocking you from experiencing your happiness. Keeping a happiness or gratitude journal may help you take that first step.

Each evening before you go to bed, write down in your journal a happy thought, memory or experience. Include the emotions that arise as you consider these thoughts and events.

This may give you the insight into the factors that are compelling you to resist your happiness. Happiness doesn’t always come easily into our lives.

You might have been conditioned by society to believe that you are not worthy of happiness unless you have achieved certain expectations.

So thoughts of happiness can actually trigger feelings of anger, guilt, fear and/or sadness. For instance are you or anyone you know in a relationship that is obviously not right?

How many times do you hear people asking, the question, why do women stay in abusive relationships.

This is not an easy question to answer.

There can be many reasons.

If you were to ask the person involved why, they probably could not give you a satisfactory answer.

The usual reply is because of the kids, or I know deep down he loves me.

For those on the outside it is hard to understand.

Most women are so good at hiding the fact that they have low self worth, that they even convince themselves that they are in control.

Nothing could be further than the truth

Woman in particular can settle for so much less than they deserve because their partner has over a period of time deluded them into thinking this is as good as it gets.

Have you ever met someone who in your estimation has it all, great figure beauty, bubbly confident personality?

Only to find them a few months later an emotional wreck, making up excuses for not getting in touch on your girlie nights out.

Always making excuses for their partners inappropriate behaviour or bad attitude.

These are classic symptoms of a woman who has lost her self worth.

When you know your self worth and do not compromise your individuality you will command respect for yourself, your family and friends.

You will have outside interests; pursue your own personal goals.

You will compliment your partnership not depend on it for validation.

Try to remember what it was like when it was just you.

What did you dream about, what was your profession going to be.

Did you enjoy going out with your friends and having a laugh?

Women do not have to give up their identity to be in a relationship and we can all fall foul to this, without even knowing it.

Time slips by and it's easier to go along with it for peace sake.

However, you can and should strive to be all that you can be.

It is healthy to evaluate your self worth and your relationships to see if you are compromising too much. giving and not receiving anything back.

Ask yourself does my partner support my individuality and dreams or does he find ways to sabotage them.

Everyone was born with gifts talents and abilities; you owe it to yourself and to all around you including your partner to shine.

There is not another you on the planet contrary to what you may or may not have been told.

So the million-dollar question is how much do you think you are worth?

http://ezinearticles.com/?Ultimate-Happiness-Comes-When-You-Know-Your-Self-Worth&id=1082457

The Happiness Factor - Foundations For A Healthy World

The Happiness Factor - Foundations For A Healthy World
By Joy Idries

When it comes to improving your health and well-being, one of the best things you can do is have a good laugh! Not only does laughter help to improve the health of your body, it also brings more happiness and joy.

In addition, the more you laugh with the people you love, the closer you become and the healthier your relationships will be.

More and more people today are looking for ways to cope with the stresses and strains of everyday life, to find a way to more joyful and vibrant living

Laughter can help you deal with the trials and challenges of your day. When you find a way to laugh in the midst of your problems, you automatically shift towards a more hopeful and optimistic frame of mind and this can be quite contagious.

Compassion, joy, love, and humour are the main ingredients for a healthy heart, mind and soul and the ability to truly celebrate life

So make it your goal to find something to laugh at every day, and to take yourself a little less seriously.

Laughter is All in Your Mind

Researchers have found that, when we laugh "feel good" hormones called endorphins are released in the brain.

Laughter has long been considered a great medicine.

Numerous studies have shown that the act of laughing can have important healing effects - including helping to keep the heart healthy, lowering blood sugar levels, and giving the immune system a boost.

So, not only does laughter make your heart feel light and happy, it actually improves your health as well!

When you 'play the clown' and combine that with the practice of mindfulness you can develop a conversation with the soul and connect with your own strengths, inner wisdom, joy and optimism.

This 'Clown Focus' raises the spirits and nourishes your body, through the practice of using your imagination, sense of humour and laughter.

Laugh When Things Are Going Wrong

It might be fairly easy to laugh and joke on your good days but what about when things aren't going quite so smoothly?

It is important to actively develop the skill of using humour to deal with stress and apply it as a highly effective coping strategy at times when the going gets tough.

There is a real sense of exhilaration that comes from learning to use your sense of humour to pull yourself up. One way of accessing this is to get in touch with your Inner Clown

We all have an Inner Clown inside of us waiting to be discovered.

It's a character we can play that gives us permission to be free, to rediscover our childlike spontaneity, creativity and pure delight.

It invites us to reconnect to the playful child inside.

Through the years, we lose touch with the brightness of life, our inner spark and things become dark and grey. But the clown helps to rekindle that spark, to restore the color and brightness, to restore our sense of wonder and joy.

It involves stepping outside of your usual way of looking at the world, being curious and intentionally naïve, excited by everything, out to explore and stepping into a world of wonder and delight.

Clown Focus Therapy is a program that enables you to get in touch with your Inner Clown in a way that is both fun and sacred, using the Language of the Soul which often uses compassionate humour and metaphor to communicate to you what you most need to know to live joyfully and in the best of health.

Laughter becomes the focus, to develop an awareness of the 'bigger' you which exists beyond all of your problems.

From it you can draw inspiration and connection to the happiness that already exists within.

People who can tap into their sense of humour in stressful times have a much greater resilience and are more emotionally flexible in the midst of the difficulties they face.

It is a great coping tool and a skill that you can easily learn to develop.

"I would never have made it if I could not have laughed.

Laughing lifted me momentarily. . . out of this horrible situation" (Victor Frankl on his experiences in a Concentration camp)

Terry Anderson, held captive in Lebanon for over 6yrs, describes in his book, Den of Lions, how a sense of humour helped him and his fellow prisoners cope.

"Despite everything, it's amazing sometimes how much laughing we do.. .. It's just a relief to be able to laugh at something."

Jokes can help you to take emotional control of the situation

Just imagine what a daily dose of serious attitude does to the quality of your life.

It can be seriously stifling and can rob you of the many opportunities for joy that a more upbeat, positive attitude brings.

"Laughter sets the spirit free to move through even the most tragic circumstances. It helps us shake our heads clear, get our feet back under us and restore our sense of balance and purpose.

Humour is integral to our peace of mind and ability to go beyond survival." (Captain Gerald Coffee, POW in Vietnam)

Love Yourself for Who You Are

When you stop taking yourself so seriously you become free to accept yourself as you are, enabling you to release the internal struggle that is taking place inside.

As a result, you will actually feel revitalized and energized. And the happier you are, the more at peace you are with yourself.

This results in a continual cycle of positive feelings and outlook, since being happy leads to even more happiness.

After all, continually battling with that internal tug-of-war is physically, mentally, and emotionally draining.

When you lay that battle to rest, your body and mind can rest as well.
Exercise your laughter muscles

Clown Focus Therapy shows how Humour Skills, such as Caricature, or Exaggeration With Compassion, can free you from internal struggle.

You learn to step outside of your limiting roles, those 'parts' that you believe you should 'play' a certain way.

Roles such as being a parent, a child, an office employee, or a significant other can often become heavy with expectation and feel suffocating.

In order to find true happiness, you need to realize that you are bigger than the roles you take yourself to be.

Learn to master them and the emotions they are attached to rather than allowing them to master you

It can help keep your problems in perspective

By bringing your feelings and thoughts out into the spotlight, you can effectively find ways to change your way of thinking and release internal struggle.

You become more able to loosen your attachment to the negative feelings or stressful situations and become empowered with more positive choices for yourself.

Bill Cosby once said, "If you can find humour in anything, you can survive it."

Happiness Versus Pleasure

Happiness Versus Pleasure
by Margaret Paul, Ph. D.

We are a pleasure seeking society. Most of us spend our energy seeking pleasure and avoiding pain. We hope that by doing this, we will feel happy.

Yet deep, abiding happiness and joy elude so many people. There is a huge difference between happiness and pleasure. Pleasure is a momentary feeling that comes from something external – a good meal, our stock going up, making love, and so on.

Pleasure has to do with the positive experiences of our senses, and with good things happening. Pleasurable experiences can give us momentary feelings of happiness, but this happiness does not last long because it is dependent upon external events and experiences.

We have to keep on having the good experiences – more food, more drugs or alcohol, more money, more sex, more things – in order to feel pleasure.

As a result, many people become addicted to these external experiences, needing more and more to feel a short-lived feeling of happiness

Thomas sought my counseling services because he “had everything” – his own successful business, a lovely wife and children, a beautiful home, and time to enjoy life.

Yet he was not happy. While he had momentary feelings of happiness while watching a ball game or socializing with his friends, he also felt anxious and depressed much of the time.

In fact, the anxiety had become so bad that he was having almost constant stomach pain, which his doctor told him was from stress. As we worked together, it became apparent that Thomas’s main desire in life was to have control over people and events.

He wanted others to do things his way and to believe the way he believed. He was frequently judgmental with his employees, wife, children and friends, believing that he was right and they were wrong and it was his job to straighten them out with his judgment and criticism.

His energy would become hard and tough and he would be like a steamroller in his efforts to get his point across and get others to do things his way. When it worked and others gave in, Thomas felt a momentary pang of pleasure.

But the pain in his stomach kept getting worse and worse, which is why he decided to consult with me.Thomas also wanted control over his own feelings, and would often judge himself as harshly as he judged others in an effort to get himself to perform well and feel okay.

He especially judged himself harshly when he felt rejected by others, frequently telling himself that he was an inadequate jerk.As we worked together, Thomas began to see that happiness is the result of choosing to be a kind, caring, compassionate and gentle person with himself and others – quite the opposite of the judgmental, controlling person he had chosen to be.

Thomas learned that happiness is the natural result of being present in each moment with love and kindness toward himself and others, rather than with being attached to the outcome of things and trying to control the outcome regarding events and others’ behavior. He discovered that he felt deep joy whenever he let go of control and chose caring instead.

The anxiety in his stomach went away whenever his intention was to be a kind and caring person rather than a controlling one.It is not easy to shift out of the deep devotion to control and become devoted to love and compassion toward oneself and others. Our ego wounded self has been practicing control since we were very little.

Yet the moment our intent is to control, our heart closes and we feel alone and anxious inside. Our intent to seek safety and pleasure through controlling others, outcomes, and our own feelings leads to an inner feeling of abandonment and emptiness. We abandon ourselves when we are trying to control our feelings rather than be kind and compassionate with ourselves.

Our anxiety and feelings of emptiness lead to more seeking outside ourselves to fill up with pleasurable experiences. The momentary pleasure leads to addictive behavior. When the intent shifts out of controlling and not being controlled to becoming loving to ourselves and others, the heart opens and joy is the result. Deep and abiding happiness and joy are the natural result of operating out of the spiritual values of caring, compassion and kindness

source http://www.articledashboard.com/Article/Happiness-Versus-Pleasure/284

Learn Meaning Behind Dreams For A Happier Life

Learn Meaning Behind Dreams For A Happier Life By Sarah Sheffington

Have you ever had the same dream over and over?

Perhaps a nightmare that haunts your sleep?

Or perhaps you dream of lying on a beautiful beach watching the waves roll in?

Have you ever wondered if the meaning behind dreams plays a role in your everyday life?

Throughout history, many people have relied on the interpretation of their dreams to guide their daily lives.

Medicine men, tribal leaders, writers, composers, presidents, and priests.

The ones that could learn the meaning behind dreams became advisors to important people and were held in high esteem by everyone.

In some cases, these interpreters were thought to have been granted special powers by the gods.

Would it have an impact on your daily life if you could learn to interpret your dreams?

Learning to interpret your dreams could give you a deeper look at the real you, which could give you an insight into thoughts you would like to be different or the things about yourself that you would like to enhance in order to live your life to the fullest.

A dream allows your brain to process information stored in your unconscious mind each day.

Even though you are consciously alert to the most important things going on around you, there are things happening in the background that your brain does not analyze immediately.

This data is stored in your subconscious until your brain has a chance to analyze the data that we consciously miss during our waking hours.

Let's try a little experiment.

Suppose you are sitting at your desk typing a letter.

Your brain is concentrating on the words you are writing.

But, try to imagine the sounds around you.

There is all sorts of action occurring in the background - perhaps a CD is running in the background, a dog is barking, people talking all around you, your fingers dance across the keyboard, your computer is running.

All of these things are happening simultaneously, but all you are aware of is what you are typing. Now, let's take the scene one step further.

What if one of the people talking in the background is your teenager - on the phone with a friend making plans for Friday night.

You recognize your child's voice in the background, but not consciously aware of is being said.

Everything that occurred in the background while you concentrated on typing the letter are stored in your subconscious.

Tonight, when you sleep, your brain brings up the data stored in the subconscious mind and brings it to the forefront in order to analyze the information.

So, if you dream of a wreck involving alcohol, this could be a warning that you may need to take a closer look at your teenager's plans.

Sometimes things are not this clear cut.

And, that is why it can be important to learn the meaning behind dreams.

Most of the time, the event or character will be symbolic - for instance, think of a lion.

What thoughts are usually associated with a lion?

King of the jungle, perhaps?

A lion often makes you think of strength, power, and even aggression.

A lion can also represent leadership, royalty or pride.

The interpretation of a dream involving a lion can depend upon the actions involving the lion.

Perhaps you are being attacked by a lion - this could be an indication that you will be facing obstacles in the near future. (And, anyone with teenagers knows this to be true!).

Learning to analyze your dreams can aid you in making decisions in your real life, can help you give you a better insight into the real you, and can even warn you of impending health problems.

Some people believe that if you can learn the meaning behind dreams, you will be able to attain a unity between mind, body, and spirit and achieve the happiness that you desire.

How To Fight Worry

How To Fight Worry by Ralston Heath

Recently I received an E-mail from a reader who requested a more specific method of fighting worry. For her, positive thinking just was not enough, she would get a general feeling of doom, and no matter how many happy thoughts she tried the feeling would keep coming back. She just could not stop worrying about the feeling, and she even worried about the worrying.

The worry caused more worry that in turn caused the bad feeling that caused more worry. A vicious cycle if there was ever a definition of one. So I gave her this method, I can not claim credit for this method as it was taught to me many years ago by my teacher, and taught to him before that, but it works and works well

Have you ever had a song stuck in your head? Where no matter what you tried you kept hearing the song over and over, and not the whole song, just key parts of it. Before reading any further, quick, grab a piece of paper and write the names of those songs, then come back and finish this lesson.

We both know that we all have had this experience, so this is easy to explain; while the song is stuck in your head; you’re not worrying. Now you’re sitting there saying “It can’t be that easy” and you’re right it isn’t, but it is that simple. The whole concept is this; that when worry begins to rule your life: Fight worry with song. Now the song can’t be just any random music that you may have lying around, it must be a tune that has formerly been stuck in your head.

I can hear you now saying “see I knew it wasn’t that easy” but I must urge you to finish this lesson and learn what it has for you. Music, especially certain songs, has a healing and therapeutic application; there have been studies done that prove this. The songs you need to know about are the ones that have been stuck in your head.

Why is that? The reason is simple you are “tuned” to that song; you have made a vibratory connection with that tune. Something about that tune resonated within in you and while it may have seemed a bit irritating at the time, it kept other thoughts from entering into the fore of your being. The good thing about this that you may not have realized at the time, was that the thoughts you were prevented from having were useless thoughts, in other words; worrisome thoughts were prevented because of that tune stuck in your head.

As an example the song “Holy Night” was stuck in my head, for those that know me this is a most unusual song to get stuck in my head, but there it was going over and over in my head, especially the refrain that has those higher notes. So I studied the song, learned the song, how to play it, the words, etc. And now I can recall that song on command.

When I begin to get a worry I remember the song and almost instantly I do not have the urge to worry. So what songs have been stuck in your head? There have probably been many, and usually only a few key parts. Rediscover those songs and find the one that is most moving to you. It may be that the tune is moving like “Scarborough Fair” or some silly words like the song that goes “Doodah, Doodah” or even a purely instrumental song like the theme from “Star Wars” or the flute solo from “Knights in White Satin” and so on. Spend a minute and remember the songs that have been stuck in your head.

If right now you can’t seem to remember any songs that may have been stuck in your head, then just try to stay aware of your thoughts, and as soon as a tune comes to mind, write it down so you can remember it in the future. The next part is to go and learn all about the song, If you read music find a copy of the sheet music, find a recording of the song, if there is a version that particularly moves you, find that one.

Spend a little time getting to know that song. For some reason you have a connection to that tune, so you may as well become familiar with it. Once you have thoroughly learned that song you can stick it in your brain on purpose, simply remembering the song deliberately can get it stuck in your head.It takes very little practice, just do it once or twice and then you will be able to automatically on command have the song playing in your head and the worrisome thoughts will simply find no room to come into your thinking to bother you

Happiness – Be Happy Now And Forever 2 Simple Tips

Happiness – Be Happy Now And Forever 2 Simple Tips by Kelly Price

I was listening to the radio today and heard a couple of songs that made me think about the meaning of happiness.

I thought I would share the two simple tips that came from these songs – that can make ANYONE happy if they listen to them.

You don’t have to listen to the songs, but understand their meaning and you will be happy now and forever. Let’s look at these 2 tips and the blessing of happiness we can all enjoy in life.

1. Happiness is a choice The first point to make is that happiness is a choice in life - you are not born happy, just as you are not born sad. Happiness is a choice that we all can make and it’s all about having the right attitude.

The first song is by a little known English comedian and singer Ken Dodd - called simply “happiness”. Some of the words go as follows:“Happiness, happiness the greatest gift that I possess I thank the lord for happiness”We should all thank god.

Happiness is not just a word it’s a character trait we are all born with and we should all take advantage of it – its there you just need to reach out and happiness is yours. We just have to get the right mindset and we can be happy for now and forever.

The point that is vital to understand if you are to achieve true happiness which leads me onto my next song.

2. Be happy despite. All that life can throw at you which brings me to my next song by Bobby McFerrin called “Don’t worry be happy” The lyric I Look is “Here is a little song I wrote you might want to sing it note for note don’t worry be happy in every life we have some trouble When you worry you make it double don’t worry, be happy”.

We all have troubles in life and we all face adversity in some shape or form – but it is how we view these problems that is critical in achieving happiness. Many people constantly compare themselves to those who are better off or have more luck in life than them and remain sad due to envy.

However, there are others that take setbacks and adversity in their stride and learn from them and take the positive. Most people think of people who are better off than them but look at it another way - there are probably millions or even billions of people worse off than you.

People are starving, people are ill, people have their human rights abused, but believe it or not, many of these people are happier than others who have far more than them in life. A great example of someone we all know who had everything and had is life changed when he was paralyzed from the waste down, was actor Christopher Reeve.

Did he feel sorry for himself? No he didn’t! He devoted his life to helping others, vowing to walk again and was an inspiration to all who came into contact with him. While he lost his capacity to walk, he was still happy with the other aspects of his life including the work he was able to do and the love and support he received from family and friends.

So do you want to be happy or sad? It’s your choice:“When you worry Your face will frown And that will bring everybody down So don't worry, be happy (now).....God gave us the gift of happiness and it’s up to us if we accept it or not, achieving happiness is really that simple.

The Skills Of Being Happy

The Skills Of Being Happy by Ralston Heath

Happiness is a mindset, a choice, something that you choose to be. You must first decide that you want to be happy and then with a few of these tips you can become and stay happy.Let us start from the place you might be; full of bad feelings.

Release your feelings; express your feelings of affection, friendship and passion to the people around you. This will allow you to begin moving towards happiness. The people in your life will most likely reciprocate your actions.

Try not to keep pent up anger of frustrations, this is bad for your health. Instead find ways of expressing them in a way that will not cause more injury or hurt to anyone.

The trick is to forgive. Forgive them, say out loud “I forgive you” (they don’t have to hear you, just you) and release the anger and resentment.

Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies. Anger is your emotion, you feel it, it is bad for your health, so let it go.

You do not have to forget, you can remember that person did you wrong, but you do not have to suffer your anger. You do not have to trust that person any more, but do not feel your anger any more. Forgive them and you will be happier.

Working at something brings tremendous personal satisfaction. It gives you the feeling of being competent and of value. When you feel you are worth something you are happier than worrying about getting stuff done.

Accomplishments are necessary for all of us; they give us a sense of worth.Learning is a joyful exercise. When you are learning you are living. Try and learn something new everyday. Learning also makes us expand and broaden our horizons, and could also give us more opportunities in the future.

When you stop learning you stop living, so keep learning.Move, do some non work related exercise. Run, jog, walk, swim, bike, and do other things that your body was made for.

Feel alive; physical health is good for your happiness, be healthy and you will find it easier to be happy.Laugh and laugh heartily; Laughter is the best medicine, so feel free to laugh. Laugh everyday, people like to be around happy people, so being happy will bring more friends into your life.

Life is not so serious that you can not laugh at the situation, or yourself, so feel free to laugh as much as makes you feel good. Start to work on a place called ‘self’. Love your self; loving means accepting, to love your self means to accept that you are not a perfect being.

You are an individual, a conscious being that that makes choices that in turn makes things happen. Making things happen sometimes results in mistakes, forgive yourself and move on. Keep this in mind; you have not failed until you quit.

When we discover a small start somewhere from within, that small start will eventually lead to something else, then to something else, and to something else. Life is about finding out about right and wrong, trying and failing, winning and losing.

These are things that happen as often as you inhale and exhale. Failure, in a person’s life has become as abundant and necessary as air. But this should not hinder us from becoming happy.

Every time you exert effort to improve the quality of life and your being, whether it is cleaning up your room, helping a friend, taking care of your sick child, or relative, rescue an animal to be your pet, and so on. Doing these things causes life to give you points for that accomplishment.

Imagine life is a game and has a big score board. Every time you take a step forward, you make scoring points. Think how it would feel to look at that board at the end of each day and think to your self “Whew! I got a point today.

Instead of looking at it all blank and murmur “Geez, I didn’t even score today. I wish I had had the guts to try” and then walk away. When you do a “good” deed you score a point, when you do a “bad” deed the other team scores.

A failure does not result in a point for either team, so do not be afraid to try. These basic skills can be fine tuned further to match your surroundings and circumstances. Using them will make you better, help to make the results you desire, and this will result in happiness.

How To Have A Happy, Healthy Holiday Season

How To Have A Happy, Healthy Holiday Season by Colette Robicheau

Did you gain weight last holiday season? You’re not alone.

With so many corporate and social gatherings and events in such a short time, it’s hard to resist indulging in the array of seasonal treats they bring.

The trick is to find a balance between enjoying yourself and maintaining healthy habits. So here are a few suggestions that will help you avoid unhealthy weight gain this year.

-Shift your attitude away from food – Remember that food is not the reason for get-togethers during the holiday season. It’s something extra. Keep that in mind and focus on having fun.

Don’t abstain – Why deny yourself your favourite meals before and during the holiday season? The key is moderation

– watch your portions, plan lighter, more nutritional meals and keep up your exercise routine.-Stock up on healthy choices

– You probably like to buy a few treats for yourself and your guests over the holidays. Why not substitute some of all of those items with more nutritional options such as fruit, whole-grain products or peanut butter?

-Curb your appetite – Want to cut the calories you consume at a seasonal celebration? Plan a small healthy snack before you go. Regularly drinking water during the holidays is another great way to keep your appetite in check.

-Plan your event calendar – With so many events to choose from, and so much temptation, it’s a good idea to take time and plan the events that you want to attend. Set yourself limits, don’t get over exhausted and make sure you are having regular meals.

-Know your limits – if there are foods that you find irresistible, set yourself limits. That way, you can enjoy them without overindulging.-Buddy up – Chances are you have a friend or co-worker who is also watching what they eat. Why not pair up and look out for each other at your next event.

-Toast to your health – Alternate your alcoholic beverages and seasonal favorites such as eggnog with Water and un-sweetened drinks. Not only will you cut calories, you’ll also avoid the holiday hangover-Eat your greens – Look for the veggie tray, a mainstay of any holiday party. For potlucks, plan a nutritious, low calorie dish, like a fruit tray or shrimp ring.

-Stay active – It isn’t easy with all of the festivities, but make time for fitness. It not only burns calories, it helps melt away seasonal stress. Consider walking to events, where possible, and arranging a drive home with a friend or by taxi.

Happy Friendship

Happy Friendship CD Mohatta

How to have happy friends? This is a very important question. Who likes friends who don't smile and laugh? Who enjoys meeting friends who look serious? Not any one of us.

What about ourselves? Do we make happy friendships? Do we make our friends happy? Before thinking about others, wouldn't it be better if we first analyze our own selves? Do we smile more often when we are with our friends? Do we laugh at the smallest joke? Or do we have a serious expression on our face all the time with our friends? Let us first think about our own behavior and correct whatever we can.

Making happy friendshipsMake yourself look happy with your friends and your friends will reflect. That is the secret of happy friendship.

Our emotions are reflected in our body language. The reverse is equally true. Does this help us? It does. It can change our state of mind by changing our physical state.

For example, if you are feeling bored, try to look cheerful and you will start becoming cheerful. It is strange, but it works. If you are feeling sad, try to look happy. You will find the sadness going away.

Isn't it great? How do we talk with friends?Happiness also depends on what do we talk with our friends. Are we always talking of our own life or do we also listen to them. Listening is the best way to make friends happy. Listen and do it carefully. No pretensions. Your friends will be happy that someone heard them out without interruption.

You will also be making your friendship stronger. Listening is very good. By listening, we make the other person feel important. we also make him/her feel happy and relieved.

By talking things out, one feels relieved. Isn't it?Give and you shall receive- the third law of Newton. Apply this law in your life and make happy friends.

You can make them happy right now by telling them about how much you appreciate their friendship. Listening to your friends, keeping a happy state of mind in their company and appreciating the friendship will make happy friends.

Make your life happier and your relationships stronger with happy friends.

Choose To Be Happy

Choose To Be Happy

You can choose to be happy regardless of what you are currently experiencing in your life. Yes sometimes it can be difficult especially if you are dealing with personal challenges.

However happiness is a choice; you can teach yourself to choose to be happy and that in turn will better your life in all areas.

People tend to rely on others to make them happy. While it is true if you are around someone who is constantly in a good mood; it is contagious and you will become excited and happy because you will pick up on that persons energy.

Just as if you are around negative people who are always upset for one reason or another; you will pick up on this energy as well.

However you can choose the emotions you want to experience; if people you associate with can influence our emotions you can also influence other peoples emotions.

Would you rather be around someone who constantly drags you down with negative emotions; or would you rather be around someone who is positive about everything and that energy rubs off on you

Count Happiness, Not Debts

Count Happiness, Not Debts by Amenda Dorothy

Bankruptcy comes as an easy option to some people when they find they are caught in the debt trap due on loans and credit cards. Bankruptcy means complete collapse of financial health and it should be the last thing to be considered.

Bankruptcy is a permanent solution to a temporary problem called financial deficits. It will ruin your chances of availing credit for a long period. What are the options to overcome the debt trap and avoid bankruptcy? The first thing you should do when you find yourself unable to pay the payments on your loans or credit cards is to contact the creditor directly and see if an easier repayment plan can be developed.

In the case of credit card debts, this can be done when the creditor reduces the interest rate for a certain period. This reduces the amount of your minimum payment.
If you find yourself helpless in the debt trap, or if the plan that you worked out failed, you can consider a debt consolidation loan.

These loans help you to make your debt to a manageable level and save your credit rating as well. A lot of organisations nowadays are offering such loan plans to the people struggling to improve there current situation from debt mismanagement.

These financial agencies consolidate all debts of the individual and assist him in gaining control of his original financial position in a short time. The process for availing debt consolidation loans is extremely simple. When you get in touch with a consolidation consultant he will counsel you on how to properly complete the consolidation form.

The consultant takes care of your debt consolidation program and clarifies how debt consolidation works. The eligibility for applying debt consolidation is presence of multiple debt burdens and a citizenship of the UK. The students can take it as an opportunity to bundle their study loans into an affordable loan plan.

Debt management is the combination of a consolidation loan plan and free debt advices. The financial experts offer you effective advice on the short cuts to cut down your debt burden after a thorough analysis of your financial status.

The debt consultant under this plan also estimates the monthly budget you will need to put to the side to meet the consolidation payments. After it the consultant gets in contact with your creditors that he/she represents you. From there, you will simply work through that sole representative, rather than through all of those creditors

Happiness And Your Life

Happiness And Your Life
by Kate Loving Shink

Happiness: the elusive life ingredient we all seek and only find when letting go of the need to have it.

The need to be happy versus the act of being happy in the moment is the great balancing act of a life time.

Giving thanks for the beauty of all things and merging your limitless, infinite self with that beauty; seeking God/ess as energy that flows through everything brings the moment, the here and now, into focus.

A true sage believes in nothing other than the sacredness and beauty of all, rooted in the moment, in the special potential of each new day.

The true sage lives in the spontaneity of energy that encompasses the physical and spiritual worlds. She does not defend or judge.

She accepts the way of people including restriction and strife.

If she truly believes she is part of the Power Source (which is God/ess), and if she can view her life and the lives of others impartially, and if she can allow everyone their reality without judgment, then she notices that her energy becomes more infinite.

As the true sage steps into this other dimension of power, beyond her circle of influence (friends and family) she learns to bend reality to suit her needs.

She learns that unseen forces in the form of angels, guides and ancestral wisdom is hers if she remembers to call on this power in times of need.

The spiritual challenge is to practice controlling the energy she has and to gradually discard the ones that pull her into negative states.

Now imagine you are the sage expressed here in this story!!All good things exist and are waiting for you to wake up and declare your union with this power.

Wake up in this sphere of infinite blessing! You do not need permission to be One with All!!All you need is the simple courage to say "Include Me!!" and work on drawing more and more from this pool of infinite energy to fuel your boundless spirit!!As you work on energizing your being with this energy, doors will open for you.

People will feel your heightened energy and will seek you out.The ones repelled by your energy will suddenly and abruptly disappear without any need to control this on your part in the least.

Call forth the courage to own your power, the same power that flows through all things.By facing your fear with courage, fear is automatically transcended.

Write down 10 things you want more than anything else. Imagine that you have them now. Create a battle plan that delineates your path to each goal.

Avoid all irrelevant sidetracks. No one will ever give you permission and no one will ever thank you. You are doing what you must do, driven by the energy of inner guidance. You must live your life like a warrior and breathe in every single ambition. If you are half hearted, the Universe will respond in fits and starts.

If you lack courage, the energy around you lacks vitality. If you falter, the Universal Law falter around you.Perseverance allows you to hold on while Universal Spirit delivers. The way to develop dedication to your life Destiny (the why of what you are here to do), is to become fiercely dedicated to your self.

This means concentrating on your needs, concentrating on those projects that give you pleasure and taking the time to acknowledge that you are here on the earth plane to develop your own evolution and nothing else.

As you begin to see your life as a manifestation of energy, you will find that your best work is in consciousness. This means that as you think and feel and indicate what it is you want in thought, reality is transformed around you.

Eventually you will perceive only the dimensions of your own creations which are beautiful and infuse your cells with happiness.

Link the positive energy to the Eternity you feel in your soul. Celebrate each success from day to day, however small. Each small success leads to personal triumph.

Every task is part of your heroic quest for transformation.

As you take time to honor each success, you experience power in a world where most do not.

Breathe in the fresh air near an old growth tree.

Experience the diminishing physical world while the infinite world within you expands. The choice is yours: whether to look at the world from a finite egocentric view and see mayhem and disaster and say: " This is terrible," or choose to look at it from the infinite view and see the beauty that exists in the learning process.

Negativity provides the opportunity to be more God/ess-like and heroic provided we do not resist the lessons waiting to be imparted to us.

Take a benign view of the world and detach from mankind's violent history. This allows the negativity laid down over the years to lesson, allowing you to transcend history.

The Light Force will permeate your thoughts.

Develop your own philosophy. Do not look to others for approval. When you express your own individuality, you free yourself.True happiness is the result!!
